Dr. Avula is a member of the inaugural class of CFS certificants. Cherry Central, in cooperation with its business partners N2N Global and IBM, has incorporated an analytics system to trace food items from the farm to supermarket shelves or ingredient buyer locations. As a result of this initiative, Cherry Central has improved productivity by 50% and shown its leadership in food safety.

With strong sales growth and an ever increasing portfolio of products that are exported around the world, the Michigan Department of Agriculture chose Cherry Central for this accolade.
